A threshold suspended between earth and ether, Almost Ascension moves in luminous layers of moss green, muted gold, deep umber, and flashes of ember orange. The surface feels alive — dense yet breathing — as gestures rise and dissolve within one another, never fully settling into stillness.
There is upward motion here, but it resists completion. Darker passages anchor the composition, holding it close to the ground, while lighter strokes strain toward release. The piece lingers in that sacred in-between — the moment just before transcendence, where gravity and grace negotiate their terms.
